Telehealth solution provider, Let’s Talk, has announced that it has achieved full HIPAA compliance. The statement, issued on April 13, 2022, confirmed that the provider had successfully implemented a number of safeguards for a comprehensive and effective HIPAA compliance program. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a set of federally mandated standards established to ensure the protection of sensitive healthcare data called Protected Healthcare Information (PHI). Organizations who manage PHI are known as covered entities and must follow the rules and regulations of HIPAA law in order to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of PHI. Covered entities who violate HIPAA law may be subject to punitive measures which are issued based on the severity of the violation.
In collaboration with Compliancy Group, Let’s Talk was able to achieve full HIPAA compliance. Compliancy group offers organizations a recognized HIPAA compliance methodology which helps covered entities to adhere to HIPAA regulations. These include the HIPAA Privacy Rule, HIPAA Security Rule, HIPAA Breach Notification Rule, HIPAA Omnibus Rule, and the HITECH Act. The HIPAA Seal of Compliance is awarded to covered entities who successfully develop a HIPAA compliance program using The Guard.
